In emergencies such as pandemics of infectious diseases, a system to supply newly developed vaccines to society is essential. In normal times, CAMaD is engaged in the research to elucidate the mechanisms how viruses and other pathogens cause disease and how human immune responds to pathogens and establishes a seamless research system for prompt social implementation of new vaccines.

In emergencies, based on normal times research findings, CAMaD promotes optimal vaccine development from various modalities such as peptide vaccines, and contributes to rapid vaccine development through an all-Japan, consistent system.
